Bridal Gloves as Wedding Accessories

Bridal Petticoats as Wedding Accessories

Bridal petticoats are constructed from several fabrics: chiffon, crystal organza, organza and net. The softest material is chiffon which is very comfortable, but chiffon does not appear to be as full as other fabrics for a given yardage. Organza holds its shape more, being more rigid, but as a result is a little less comfortable. Net is also used and again is not as comfortable as chiffon.

Crystal organza is expensive, but very popular, and is a sparkly translucent material that is available in wonderful range of colours. It packs well for travel and can be machine washed on a delicate cycle.

The fullness of petticoats is quoted in terms of yardage - for instance 30 yards. This does not mean 30 yards of material was used in the construction though. Rather, the bottom edge is 30 yards long. Petticoats are generally available in 10 yard steps from 20 yards to 100 yards. The trimming also add to fullness with ruffles giving a very full look and hemmed or lace trimmed petticoats appearing less full.
