Wedding Catering

Wedding catering information:

Draw up a shortlist of potential wedding catering firms - Obtain price lists and testimonials from other customers - then arrange appointments to discuss your own requirements so that you can compare prices and service.

Ask each caterer the same questions about their service, ingredients and any added extras so you get comparable quotes from each.

Some questions you might like to ask each of the caterers or reception venue you approach to deal with your wedding catering.

Is there a fixed package? (This may be the most reasonably priced option!)

We are holding our reception at in a hall / at home / in a marquee. Will the food will be pre-cooked and ready to serve or will you need cooking facilities?

Do you have set menus for our wedding catering or can we create our own?

How many options can be available for each course?

Can special dietary needs be met - vegetarian, kosher or halal if required?

Can we taste samples of your wedding catering food?

How much notice do you need before the reception?

How near the wedding date can we confirm final numbers?

What percentage deposit do you require and when?

How much of the clearing up will be done by the wedding catering company after the reception?

Is there a provision for waiting on staff in your quote?

Some wedding caterers include a drink as the guests arrive and then a certain number of bottles of wine per guest or table, along with fruit juices, so ask -

Is any table wine or "champagne" included in a package with the food?

If wine is included, will we be charged for the bottles ordered or for just those that are opened?

Are there any other drinks are included in the package? (soft drinks - bottled water)

Is a welcome drink at the entrance included?

Do you charge corkage if we buy our own wine?
