Wedding Hymns

Wedding hymns for your service.

Hymn music is a traditional and vital ingredient of your church wedding service. It sets the whole atmosphere and enables everyone to join in the singing of your chosen hymns.

Many Christian wedding services include just two or three hymns. However, there is no hard and fast ruling as to how many hymns can be sung during a wedding service although it is uncommon to have less than two, or many more than four.

Choosing your wedding hymns

You should be able to have any wedding hymns of you choose to be sung during your wedding service. However, you must discuss your own preferences with your vicar who's approval is required.

When considering wedding hymns for your marriage service, you should always bear in mind the vocal talents (or not!) of your guests. Unless there are known to be a number of good hymn singers, you should really avoid any unfamiliar wedding hymns and hymns with high notes. This is particularly relevant if you will not be using the church choir. The last thing you need or want is an embarrassed silence!
