Wedding Venues

Besides wedding venues like Register Offices, Churches and Chapels, recent marriage laws allows venues holding special marriage licences throughout England and Wales to be available for the purpose of weddings.

To arrange a wedding in approved premises, you must first contact the wedding venue of your choice to make a provisional booking, do not pay any deposits at this stage. Next you must contact the local Register Office to ensure that the registration officers are able to attend your marriage on that date and time you require.

Some of these wedding venues offer services besides the hosting of the Wedding Ceremony. The reception, guest accommodation and even the honeymoon may be available.

Wentbridge House

The Law does not allow for civil marriages to be held anywhere in the open air, inside any tent or marquee. Any other movable structure, such as a boat, or train is not licensable either. Nor can a civil marriage legally take place in any building which has past or present connection with any religion.
